AMS Device Manager, along with DeltaV and Ovation, is a powerful combination for managing smart valves and transmitters that help reduce maintenance costs and increase reliability. Since not all critical and important smart field devices are connected to DeltaV and Ovation, AMS Device Manager requires another type of solution to connect isolated field devices. Emerson saw the need to connect AMS device managers to these isolated field devices on which the FG-200 gateway could connect with Foundation fieldbus H1 devices. Softting joins Emerson’s DeltaV Alliance product program and works with Emerson to integrate the FG-200 and AMS device manager. Softing’s FG-200 gateway now enables AMS device managers to access those isolated field devices, so users are no longer limited to managing only devices connected via DeltaV and Ovation. The gateway provides additional capabilities that enable enterprise experts anywhere in the world to remotely manage intelligent field devices. This ensures consistent, horizontal and vertical data flows and smooth data exchange without information loss, enabling predictions based on reliable diagnostic parameters to offset possible failures in a timely manner, and the ability to operate a reliable, efficient and future-proof plant asset management system.
