In order to meet the needs of process production, accurately control the production process and save human resources, we often need to optimize the existing PLC program, increase the closed-loop adjustable control loop such as flow, pressure, temperature, level, etc., and achieve manual/automatic no-disturbance switching of the system. However, how to quickly and accurately achieve the above functions, the following will be introduced in detail.
2 Basic concepts of analog closed-loop control system
2.1 Composition of analog closed-loop control system
A typical PLC analog closed-loop control system is shown in Figure 1, and the part in the dotted line is realized by PLC. PLC analog closed-loop control system block diagram
In the analog closed-loop control system, the controlled quantity c(t) (such as pressure, temperature, flow, level, etc.) is a continuously changing analog quantity, and most actuators (such as pneumatic control valves and frequency inverters, etc.) require the PLC to output an analog signal mv(t), while the CPU of the PLC can only handle digital quantities. c(t) is first converted by the measuring element (sensor) and transmitter into A standard range DC current signal or DC voltage signal pv(t), such as 4-20mA and 0-5V signals, which the PLC converts into a digital quantity pv(n) with A/D converter in the analog input module. The conversion between analog and digital quantities and the execution of PID program are periodic operations, and the interval time is called the sampling period, and the n in the brackets of each digital quantity represents the digital quantity when the NTH sampling is calculated. sp(n) in Figure 1 is the given value, pv(n) is the amount of feedback after A/D conversion, and the error ev(n)=sp(n)-pv(n). The D/A converter converts the digital mv(n) output of the PID controller into an analog (DC voltage or DC current) mv(t), and then controls the actuator. Closed-loop negative feedback control can make the feedback quantity pv(n) of the control system equal to or follow the given value sp(n). Closed-loop control system structure is simple, easy to achieve automatic control, now it is widely used in various fields.
2.2 S7-300/400 analog closed-loop control function
The S7-300/400 provides users with powerful and easy to use analog closed-loop control.
2.2.1 Closed loop control module
The FM335 of the S7-300 and FM455 of the S7-400 are intelligent 4-way and 16-way closed-loop control modules. Can be used in chemical and process control, modules with A/D converter and D/A converter.
2.1.2 System function block for closed-loop control
In addition to the dedicated closed-loop control module, the S7-300/400 can also implement PID control with the PID control function block. However, the analog input module and analog output module (or digital output module) need to be configured.
The system function block SFB41 “CONT_C” is used for continuous control, SFB42 “CONT_S” is used for stepping control, and SFB43 “PULSEGEN” is used for pulse width modulation.
2.2.3 Closed-loop Control Software Package
The program editor file to “\ Library \Standard Library \PID Controller” in FB41 ~ FB43 applies to all S7-300 and S7-400 CPU PID control, FB58 and FB59 applies to PID temperature control. FB41 to FB43 are compatible with SFB41 to SFB43. time in milliseconds for the master station to wait for a response from the slave station. The typical setting is 1000 milliseconds (1 second). The allowable range is 1-32767. Note: this value must be set large enough to allow a time response from the slave station.
