Yokogawa Electric is pleased to announce the release of five new cpus for the FA-M3R series of multi-controller PLC systems. These new S-Series cpus significantly extend FA-M3R’s product range in terms of performance and ease of use, enabling customers to use FA-M3R in high-speed applications and more easily develop and maintain their programs. The enhanced performance includes a new CPU with a minimum instruction execution time of 0.07 microseconds, the fastest in the industry. Customers with applications requiring fast cycle times, most commonly in material handling, assembly equipment, test stands, motion and vision control, will benefit from the FA-M3R’s ability to use standard PLC logic control and high-speed device control.
This typically does not require additional dedicated high-speed controllers or motion controllers to operate high-speed devices, resulting in significant savings in initial system cost and total cost of ownership. In addition, all S-series cpus (part numbers with an “S” suffix) automatically store the customer’s program documentation (cascade comments, I/O descriptions, and user tag names) in CPU-protected local memory. This makes maintenance and program development much easier and does not require customers to separately load program documents on their connected PC or laptop.
