The IC698CRE030 is a PACSystems RX7i CPU. The RX7i CPU is programmed and configured with programming software to control machines, processes, and systems in real time. It is capable of communicating with I/O and smart option modules through a rack-mounted backplane using the VME64 standard format. An embedded Ethernet port or serial port enables the CPU to communicate with the programmer and HMI devices. This particular model uses a 600MHz Pentium-M microprocessor (64 MB of user memory and flash memory).
Highlights of the unit include HSB or hot standby redundancy, battery-supported user memory, and non-volatile flash memory, allowing program, configuration, register data, and symbol variable storage. It is a mass memory that can be accessed through the reference table %W. It features ladder diagram, C language, structured text and functional block diagram programming. Automatically locate symbol variables conveniently using unlimited memory. Many modules are supported, including the 90-70 series discrete and analog I/O and VME modules. This IC698CRE030CPU allows cross-network data monitoring and up to 16 web server /FTP connections. The block size cannot exceed 128KB, but 512 blocks are supported. In addition, the unit comes with a word reference, a battery-powered calendar clock, a serial port that supports firmware upgrades, and three isolated serial ports.
Embedded Ethernet interfaces enable EGD data exchange, TCP/IP communication services, site management, diagnostic tools, and time synchronization with time servers. In addition, redundant IP(which can be configured by the user) facilitates the production of EGD switches.
