IC695CPU320-CF GE GE 4.0 Industrial Development

The IC695CPU320 is a central processing unit of the GE Fanuc PACSystems RX3i series. This IC695CPU320 is equipped with a 1 GHz Intel Cyon M microprocessor with 64 MB of user (random access) memory and 64 MB of flash (storage) memory. The RX3i CPUs are programmed and configured to control machines, processes and material handling systems in real time.

The IC695CPU320 has a pair of separate serial ports built into its case. The two serial ports each occupy a slot on the system base. The CPU supports SNP, serial I/O, and Modbus slave serial protocols. In addition, the IC695CPU320 has a dual-backplane design that supports RX3i PCI and a 90-30 style serial bus. Like other cpus in the Rx3i product family, the IC695CPU320 provides automatic error checking and correction.

The IC695CPU320 uses Proficy Machine Edition and is used in all GE Fanuc controller development environments. Proficy Machine Edition is used to create, run, and diagnose operator interface, motion, and control applications.

Eight indicators on the CPU help with troubleshooting. In addition to the fact that the two leds labeled COM 1 and COM 2 belong to different ports rather than different functions, each LED responds to a separate function. The other indicators are CPU normal, running, Output enabled, I/O force, battery, and Sys Flt – short for “System failure.” The I/O Force LED indicates whether the overlay on the bit reference is valid. When the output enabled led lights up, output scanning is enabled. Other LED labels are self-explanatory. For easy viewing, leds and serial ports are clustered on the front of the device.
