What is relay protection
This paper studies the power system failure and the abnormal condition that endangers the safe operation, in order to discuss the anti-accident automation measures. The earliest relay protection devices were fuses. Later, electromagnetic relay protection devices for circuit breakers, electronic static relays and even digital relay protection for application computers appeared.
Classification of relay protection
1, according to the protected object classification, there are power line protection and main equipment protection (such as generator, transformer, bus, reactor, capacitor and other protection).
2, according to the protection function classification, there are short circuit fault protection and abnormal operation protection. The former can be divided into primary protection, backup protection and auxiliary protection. The latter can be divided into overload protection, loss of magnetic protection, out-of-step protection, low-frequency protection, non-full-phase operation protection and so on.
3, according to the protection device for comparison and calculation of the semaphore classification, there are analog protection and digital protection. 3. Sensitivity
It refers to the ability to react to fault situations within the specified protection range. The protection device that meets the sensitivity requirement should react sensitively and correctly when the fault occurs in the area, regardless of the location of the short circuit point and the type of short circuit.
Typically, sensitivity is measured by the sensitivity factor and expressed as Klm.
The minimum and maximum calculated values of fault parameters are calculated according to the most unfavorable operating mode, fault type and short circuit point.
In the “Technical Specification for Relay Protection and Safety Automatic Device (DL400-91)”, the requirements of the sensitivity coefficient Klm of various types of protection are specified.
4. Reliability
Refers to the occurrence of a fault belonging to its change of action, it can operate reliably, that is, no rejection action (rejection); When the action is not changed, he can be reliably stationary, that is, there is no wrong action (referred to as mismovement).
