After understanding what components can be connected to the input end and the three elements that a loop needs to have, the following uses Mitsubishi FX3UPLC and a power supply (generally 24V power supply, see the instructions specifically) to explain how to connect these components to the PLC input end (as shown below).

Input two-wire connection:

① First of all, treat the inside of each X point input as a small light bulb for easy understanding. One end of the small bulb is all over the S/S common end.

② Then connect one end of the button switch to the X3 input terminal (and X point on the same common end can be), and connect the other end of the button to the negative terminal of the external power supply.

③ Finally, the positive terminal of the external power supply is connected to the S/S terminal.

Analyze, the power flow from the positive terminal to S/S, through the bulb, and then through the switch flow back to the negative terminal of the power supply.

A two-wire switch connection is as simple as that. However, it should be noted that the magnetic switch two lines have brown and blue lines, brown positive blue negative. (Pay attention to the direction of the power supply current when wiring, the power supply flows from the positive terminal to S/S and then through the X point, the brown line is connected to the X end, and the blue line is connected to the negative terminal of the power supply.)

In addition, the PLC common S/S terminal connected to the positive terminal of the power supply is called the leakage connection, and the negative terminal of the power supply is called the source connection. (When the common end S/S is connected to the negative voltage pole, the blue line of the magnetic switch is connected to the X point, and the brown line is connected to the positive voltage pole)

Input three-wire connection:

Photoelectric switch description: three-wire photoelectric switch is divided into NPN type and PNP type. (The appearance is the same as the specific instructions or nameplate to distinguish) N indicates low level P indicates high level.

The three wires are brown, blue, black, brown positive blue negative black signal.

Firstly, the brown and blue wires of the photoelectric switch are connected to the positive and negative terminals of the power supply respectively. Then connect the black signal line to the input X point of PLC; The final distinction is the NPN type, S/S common terminal positive, is the PNP type, S/S common terminal negative.
