ABB REG216 digital generator protection
These operating instructions apply to the digital generator Protection REG 216, the REG 216 compact and the digital control unit REC 216. In these instructions, RE.216 is used to refer to both types. The application of protection system provides many different protection functions permanently stored in the software of the RE.216 system. This function needed to protect a particular plant can be selected, activated and set individually. A particular protection function may be used multiple times in different protection schemes. How signals will be handled by the plant protection department such issues as tripping, signal and logic allocation to various input and output signals is also done by properly configuring the software. The system hardware is modular in structure.
