Digital signal connection should pay attention to the problem

The input signal of the inverter includes the digital input signal (switch-type command signal) that operates on the running state such as run/stop, forward/reverse, and point, and these signals often come from the digital output signal of the PLC. The PLC usually uses its internal relay contact (relay output type PCC) or a component with switching characteristics (transistor output type PLC) to connect with the inverter to obtain the operating state instructions, as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2. When connecting digital signals, note that:

(1) When the relay output type PCB is connected to the inverter, it should be noted that poor contact often brings about the wrong operation of the inverter, so it is necessary to pay attention to the reliable connection in the actual wiring.

(2) When the transistor output type PCB is connected with the inverter, attention should be paid to the limitation conditions such as the voltage level of the transistor itself and the size of the current within its range to ensure the reliability of the system.

(3) When designing the input signal circuit of the inverter, the inductive load such as relay should be avoided as far as possible, because the surge current generated by the opening and closing of the relay may cause the wrong operation of the inverter.

(4) When the switching signal of the PCB output enters the inverter, crosstalk between the external power supply and the inverter control power supply sometimes occurs, and attention should be paid to the separate grounding of the PCB and the inverter to avoid the use of a common grounding wire between the two.
