PLC is a device specially developed for industrial automatic control, and usually PLC adopts “natural language” programming oriented to control process and problem.

Different manufacturers of products use different programming languages, these programming languages have ladder diagram, statement table, control system flow chart and so on.

In order to enhance the various computing functions of PLC, some PLC is also equipped with BASIC language, and is exploring the use of other high-level languages to program.

Japan’s FANUC company, Tachishi Company, Mitsubishi Company, Fuji Company and other PLC products, all use ladder diagram programming.

When using a programmer to input a program to a PLC, a simple programmer generally uses a code table input, and a large programmer can also use a ladder diagram for direct input.

In many PLC products, due to different manufacturers, the representation of the instruction system and the mnemonics in the statement table are not the same, but the principle is exactly the same.

We take FANUC-PMC-L as an example to introduce PLC instruction which is suitable for NC machine tool control.

In the PLC of FANUC series, the number of functional instructions is only different when the specifications and models are different.

For example, the FANUC-BESK PLC-B functional instructions developed by Beijing Machine Tool Research Institute and FANUC Company are 23, in addition, the instruction system is exactly the same.

There are two types of instructions in FANUC-PMC-L: basic instructions and functional instructions.

When designing sequential programs, the basic instructions are used most, and there are 12 basic instructions.

Functional instructions are easy to program the special operation control of the machine tool, and there are 35 functional instructions.

In the execution of basic instructions and functional instructions, a stack register is used to temporarily store the intermediate results of logical operations. The stack register has 9 bits and works according to the principle of first-in-last-out and last-in-first-out.

When the current operation result is pressed, all the original states of the stack are shifted to the left one bit; On the contrary, when the operation result is fetched, the stack is all moved to the right one bit, and the pressed signal is first read back.
