Galil Motion Control, an industry leader in motion control technology, has announced the latest addition to its RIO Pocket PLC family. The new RIO-47300 includes more I/O, screw terminals, and two Ethernet ports to manage an unlimited number of inputs and outputs without the need for an external Ethernet switch. Galil’s RIO Pocket PLC series has been on the market for five years and offers a compact intelligent solution for programmable I/O control. Ann Keffer, Director of Marketing at Galil Motion Control, Inc., said, “The RIO-47300 introduces additional inputs and outputs, combined with our Daisy chain capabilities through embedded Ethernet ports, Provides customers with a high-performance, cost-effective distributed application solution with unlimited I/O.” The RIO-47300’s digital inputs and outputs have been increased from 16 to 24, for a total of 48 optically isolated digital I/ OS.
The RIO-47300 is an intelligent input and output controller that uses a powerful RISC processor for fast processing. The RIO allows 400 program lines, 254 variables, 1000 array elements, 6 PID control rings, and 5 Ethernet handles. Other standard features include PID process control loops, timers, counters, a network interface, email alerts, data logging, and the ability to read position and temperature sensors. The RIO controller can be programmed using Galil’s easy-to-use two-letter language, which is the standard language for all Galil motion and I/O controllers. Software can also be used to convert relay ladder logic programs (typically used by PLC programmers) into code that feeds into the RIO controller. Equipped with screw terminals for quick and easy prototyping, the RIO-47300 measures 10.8 “x 4.7” with a DIN tray. The RIO is powered by an 18V-36V DC external power supply. LED indicators provide a convenient display of all digital inputs and outputs. The RIO-47300 costs $495 for a single unit and $360 for a minimum order of 100 units.
