Both controllers use ABB’s TrueMove and QuickMove motion control technologies, providing best-in-class cycle time, high speed, position repeatability and path accuracy. This allows ABB robots to operate faster than other robots in their class, and 25% faster than their predecessors.

The E10’s ultra-thin 19-inch rack-mount design makes it ideal for space-limited and high-density production lines where space saving is a key requirement, such as small part assembly and material handling in the electronics industry. The E10 controller is designed to power ABB’s SCARA robots and articulated robots with payloads of up to 11 kg, such as the IRB 920T and IRB 1300.

The OmniCore V250XT controller is designed to power articulated robots with payloads of up to 300kg, such as the IRB 6700, providing a versatile and powerful solution for electric vehicle production, automotive manufacturing, logistics and general industrial applications.

Thanks to energy-efficient power generation technology and braking energy recovery, the OmniCore E10 and V250XT controllers consume up to 20% less energy than ABB’s previous IRC5 controllers, enabling manufacturers to reduce energy costs and improve efficiency, thereby helping to reduce overall energy consumption.

Both controllers are used with ABB’s FlexPendant handheld controller. The large 8-inch multi-touch display supports standard gestures such as squeezing, swiping, and tapping, simplifying robot programming. The FlexPendant is “hot-swappable,” meaning it can be pulled out or reconnected without interrupting ongoing production. This allows multiple robots to share the FlexPendant, which accelerates robot deployment and minimizes costs.
