ABB 408368B IAM MODULE Servo positioning system

Each regulated IAM has a unique address. The IAM address is set by an eight-bit DIP switch (Figure 2), with DIP switch position 1 as the least significant bit (LSB) and position 8 as the most significant bit (MSB). Use Figure 3 as a reference to set up the IAM address. Use a small screwdriver or pen to set the switch. The address of the device that oversees the IAM should be written on a resealable label. This information helps troubleshoot the system.

The 4010 FACP (IDNet Channel) will oversee IAM configuration to the 4010 panel using 4010 Fire Alarm – Installation and Programming (574-187) and 4010 Fire Alarm – Installation, Operation and Programming Instructions (574-052). Please refer to 4010 Panel label 526-444 for appropriate revisions to the instructions used. 4100/4120/4020 FACP (MAPNET II channel) Configure monitored IAM to host FACP using 4100, 4120, or 4020 programmer reports. The regulated IAM address and location must match the address listed in the 4100, 4120, or 4020 Programmer Reporting Specification table.

1. IDNet and MAPNET II lines are 18 AWG twisted pair (shielded recommended).

2. The maximum allowable travel from the FACP to the farthest device does not exceed 2,500 feet. FACP’s maximum total wire (including all T-joints) is 10,000 feet.

3. Maximum wire length is 400 feet, #18 AWG.

4. For more information about connecting supervised IAM to IDNet, see Field wiring diagram 842-073. See the field wiring diagram 841-804 or 841-996 for more information about connecting supervised IAM to MAPNET II. The wiring of IDNet and MAPNET II is supervised and has limited power.
