Thyristors can be classified in many ways.
(1) Classified by turn-off, turn-on and control mode: thyristor can be divided into ordinary thyristor, bidirectional thyristor, reverse thyristor, gate turn-off thyristor (GTO), BTG thyristor, temperature-controlled thyristor and light-controlled thyristor according to its turn-off, turn-on and control mode.
(2) Classification by pin and polarity: silicon controlled rectifier can be divided into two pole silicon controlled rectifier, three pole silicon controlled rectifier and four pole silicon controlled rectifier according to its pin and polarity.

(3) Classification by packaging form: silicon controlled rectifier can be divided into metal encapsulated silicon controlled rectifier, plastic encapsulated silicon controlled rectifier and ceramic encapsulated silicon controlled rectifier. Among them, metal-encapsulated silicon controlled rectifier can be divided into bolt type, flat type, round shell type, etc; Molded silicon controlled rectifier can be divided into two types: type with heat sink and type without heat sink.
(4) Classification by current capacity: SCR can be divided into high-power SCR, medium-power SCR and low-power SCR according to current capacity. In general, high-power thyristor is mostly encapsulated in metal shell, while medium and small power thyristor is mostly encapsulated in plastic or ceramic.
(5) Classification by turn-off speed: SCR can be divided into ordinary SCR and high-frequency (fast) SCR according to its turn-off speed.
(6) Zero-crossing trigger – generally refers to power regulation, that is, when the sine AC voltage phase is triggered at zero-crossing point, it must be triggered at zero-crossing point to conduct the thyristor.
(7) Non-zero-crossing trigger – the thyristor can be triggered at any phase of the AC voltage. The common trigger is phase-shift trigger, that is, the output percentage can be changed by changing the conduction angle (angular phase) of the sinusoidal AC.
